HISTORY

Originally named ‘Dairy Delicacies’, Gippsland Food and Wine was established in 1985 on a bare block on the Melbourne end of Yarragon Village, in a purpose built medium sized building.

History of the site states it was previously a Blacksmith and eventually became a service station and garage.

In the 30 years of its existence the building had had 5 extensions. During the first 10 years the old church was added to the block which is now ‘All Things Bright and Beautiful’ and a purpose built bakery was added between the buildings. Offering the general public a travelers haven with quality food, gourmet delights, great coffee and conveniences.

When new owners took over in 1995, they extended the front of the building to include the 45 seat ‘Sunroom’ and enlarged the cheese delicatessen. Local jams, chutneys, sauces and preserves were also increased as was the cellar door. Adding to the building's quaint charm and ambiance.
